A beautiful first introduction to ballet.

Beginner ballet for girls 2–6. Thirty minutes, once a week, at Antioch Community Church. No experience needed.

The classes

Two levels, one room

Dancers are grouped by age so every class moves at the right pace.

Rainbows

Ages 2–4

A gentle first introduction to ballet for our youngest dancers. Through rhythm games, simple ballet positions and imaginative movement, your child builds balance, coordination and a love of dance at her own pace. Rainbows classes prepare a dance for the seasonal performances and perform one dance in the Spring Recital.

Age 2 by September 1 to start in the fall or January 1 to start in the spring.

Prims

Ages 4–6

A step up from Rainbows, with a little more structure. Prims dancers learn basic ballet technique, follow a class sequence, and enjoy the beauty and rhythm of moving. Prims classes prepare a dance for the seasonal performances and perform one dance in the Spring Recital.

In the studio

What happens in a class

Each thirty-minute class moves through rhythm and musicality games, balance and coordination exercises, and the basic ballet positions. Young dancers follow directions, imagine movement and play, and build toward a short dance for the seasonal performances.

By the end of the year, each class has prepared a dance for the Spring Recital — the culmination of everything they learned.
